The Latymer School, London
In early 2021, we received a commission to install, test & certify the consultant design for ‘The Latymer School’ located in Edmonton, London. Upon inspection, it became evident that the school’s installation suffered from a significant imbalance. This issue was brought to light following a mechanical failure, which necessitated the use of portable heaters to maintain a suitable environment for the school. Unfortunately, this imbalance created increased bottlenecks throughout the current layout and poised a massive risk to the safety of the school due to over load and break down of circuits.
To address this critical situation, we worked closely with the M&E consultant to implement a strategy to balance the load across the school. Our solution involved the implementation of a distribution network consisting of 7 main panel boards and 48 sub-main circuits, which effectively supplemented the existing installation.
Given the constraints of a demanding schedule and the inability to disrupt regular school activities, we strategically utilised the 6-week school holiday period to execute the migration strategy while minimising disturbances as much as possible.
The success of this project was attributed to the team’s unwavering commitment, exceptional professionalism, and extensive experience.
